MERC 1122
Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) 1122 Balochistan is a flagship emergency medical services initiative established and managed by PPHI Balochistan (People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative Balochistan). Developed under the Government of Balochistan, MERC 1122 was launched to strengthen pre-hospital emergency care and provide rapid medical response along the province’s major highways, helping reduce deaths and disabilities caused by road traffic accidents and other medical emergencies. PPHI Balochistan serves as the parent organization, overseeing the planning, implementation, management, and operational excellence of the MERC network.
As one of PPHI Balochistan’s strategic healthcare initiatives, MERC 1122 operates through a centralized command and control system with the emergency helpline 1122, supported by a network of Emergency Response Centers strategically located across Balochistan. Each center is equipped with fully equipped ambulances, rescue vehicles, motorcycles, trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and modern communication systems to ensure timely emergency response and patient transportation.
Building on PPHI Balochistan’s mission of “Fighting Poverty Through Healthcare,” MERC 1122 extends the organization’s healthcare services beyond primary healthcare by delivering 24/7 emergency medical assistance, trauma care, highway rescue operations, disaster response, and inter-facility patient transfers. The initiative reflects PPHI Balochistan’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, strengthening emergency preparedness, and saving lives throughout the province.
